The Government is beginning to achieve its objectives with the National Oil Company of Equatorial Guinea (Gepetrol). The plan is to give more prominence in crude oil exploration in the country to this public company.
As the first result after the transfer on June 1, 2024 of the assets of Block B to the company GEPETROL, this Sunday, July 14, it has achieved a historic event in the country, since the company has managed to make its first shipment of crude oil as operator
technical.
The operation has been carried out in the Zafiro Field at the Serpentina FPSO terminal. This action has been concluded in a "satisfactory and successful" manner, according to reports from Gepetrol. The work began in April and is currently bearing fruit with the signing of the agreement between GEPetrol and Petrofac, an agreement with which the company
Nacional de Petróleos would receive technical assistance for Zafiro block B for 5 years and with which Petrofac will provide technical services through ground support bases, an FPSO and a platform on behalf of GEPetrol, as operator.
